Catching up

Made a few cards recently, just not got round to posting them online!

First up, a pink and fairy leaving card as a request for a friend at work:

Next up, two requested by my OH for a friend at work who had a birthday, then left within a week!

I think, after going through all my stash and still struggling to find what he wanted me to use, he’s finally got an idea why I’ve got so many stamps!  Still, as if I needed it, it was a good excuse to buy another gorjuss girl!

Finally, if it’s owls, it has to be for my Mum!

The front is a layer of acetate, with vellum behind it, and a border of punched Kraft card holding them in place.  The paper and image is a magazine freebie from last year, from Making Cards, and I’ve got several cards for Mum out the set!

No challenge entries from this lot, but I’ve got a few ideas this week, time willing!

L for Lemon and Lime

Two posts in two days?  Blimey!

So, went into Sam Taylors last weekend, and was surprised to find some of my beloved Simply Sassys in the sale!  What could I do?  At half price, it would have been rude not to rescue them!  So, I now have High School Student, Little Light of Mine and this little cutie – My Friend Kitty – added to my collection.

Now, I started colouring her last week, for the Alphabet Challenge, K is for Kitty Cats.  As ever, life cropped up and I didn’t get her finished in time.  So, I was delighted to see that this week’s challenge was L for Lemon and Lime – and she fitted right in!

As with the Christmas card below, she was made using Rozzy’s Trimcraft sketch challenge, the image is Simply Sassy, coloured with promarkers, and the cards, paper and embellishments are all docrafts.

Alphabet Challenge – L is for Lemon and Lime

Planning ahead, I got tickets through today for the GNPE at Harrogate in September, and I’m booked on the Clarity breakfast workshop, with Barbara Grey hopefully teaching me how to get more use out my brayer!

Can’t wait!

Christmas in July

Haven’t uploaded in ages due to work and holidays, and here I am with a Christmas card!

Stamp is a Hero Arts stamp, which I received in a swap – which had the additional challenge to see what we could do with the stamp we received.

I would also like to enter this in Polka Doodles' Christmas in July challenge.

Birthday Card

I can now share this card, since the recipient has now seen it!

Unfortunately, all she’s seen is the pictures, as the card is lost somewhere between here and Holland.  Good old Royal Mail.

The colours are inspired by Jenny Joseph’s poem, Warning…

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth

Making the most of the holidays!

Three projects finished and a few more in planning!

First, a quickie ATC just in time for the Royal Wedding -

Second, a birthday card for a young girl, done as a request for a friend at work.  One of the in planning projects is a matching boys' card!

I love the new gorjuss stamps!  This is one of the clear ones, called "Little Heart".  I must admit, she was an impuse purchase,  but she's so cute!  I've got a few other coloured ones ready to play with as well!

Finally, I have another request card, which I'd also like to enter in some challenges.  It's a Civil Partnership card, for a friend's sister.  Not the easiest card to make, but I'm happy with it!

I ♥ Promarkers - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - White on White

I had planned on entering it in the Polkadoodles challenge, but it closed at lunchtime!  Trust me!

If I get half as much done while I'm off as I'm planning, then I'll have loads to upload here next week!

Quickie, and check out the candy!

Got loads of projects on the go, just need to get them photographed before sending to recipients!   Some of them have to stay hidden til after they've been received, too!

Couple I can show, one is a birthday card for my niece

Image is hippy chick from Simply Sassy, papers are Prima, with core'dinations distressed as backing, and the style is from a tutorial at Joanna Sheen's site.

Second is an altered box, from a challenge on Crafty Mess.  It's a box, with a matching address box in it, and it's MINE!  For once I've done something for ME!

And, before I go, Donna at Bearly Mine has some VERY generous blog candy, so pop over and visit her!

Quickie Challenge Entry

Oops, didn't post here last month, but did upload to my Trimcraft Gallery.

Tonight is a quickie.  I got a brayer at the GNPE last month, and have been playing about.  Finally I have something I'm happy to show!

Background is created using Story Skies and Dusty Concord Distress Inks, and Slate Adirondak ink.  The stamps are from Inkylicious.

I've entered this on the Trimmie forum, in Kim's themed challenge 5, which is for a new technique, and in blogland, I'd like to enter it in the following:

Lexi's Creations - Monochromatic
Crafty Ann - Inspired by Elvis
Polka Doodles - No Printed backing papers

I really like this effect and can see myself using it again.  Oh dear, another excuse to buy more inks!

Three Birthday cards

Three birthday cards today.  First one is a topper based joyfold, for my cousin, whose birthday I *almost* forgot!  Quick and simple, using the new retro collection from Forever Friends...

The next two are for challenge entries, as well as having specific recipients in mind!

The elephant is from Bugaboo Stamps, coloured with promarkers and mounted on corrugated card - I've had it lying about for ages, but only recently figured out how to get stuff to stick to it!  I <3 Pinflair glue!  This is for  my nephew, who will be 3 this week.

I would like to enter this in the Passion For Promarkers Week 88 - One for the Boys challenge.

The fairy was a request from a friend at work for a first birthday card.  My friend is very girly, so pink and fairies is just her style!  The fairy was a free digi with a magazine (sorry, forget which one!)

I would like to enter this in I ♥ ProMarkers week 53 challenge - Stitching.  I have used faux stitching round the patchwork pieces on the number 1, and round the outside edge of the prima paper.

Finally, I'd like to enter either or both of the last two cards in Crafty Ann's Happy Birthday challenge.  If I can only pick one, I'll go for the fairy!

Lots of Sets!

Been working on some sets this week, to donate as raffle prizes.  Been fun trying to work with a very clean and simple style, so I can make several matching cards!

First one is a stationery set, using this resource from Split Coast Stampers

Contains 4 large cards, 4 small cards, and 4 tags, as well as a matching notebook and pen.  There's also a pocket for a couple of stamps.

Next, is an accordian folder, holding half a dozen cards.  Again, this was made from a resource on SCS.

Finally, a box with some celtic inspired designs.

Last, but not least, a couple of stand alone cards

A leaving card, using the Fairy Tale simply sassy stamp,

And a birthday card, based on Brenda's DT card for the Allsorts challenge this week.  Sooo odd working straight onto the card!

Quickie - Jude's blog candy

Jude at Crafts International  has some half term blog candy...

There's loads of goodies to be won, closing date's the 31st March.

Hopefully, I'll be back with some goodies either later today or tomorrow.  A friend at work is having a fundraiser in memory of her son who died last year, and I'm making some sets as raffle prizes for it.

Swaps and miscellaneous cards!

I'm gatting into ATCs this year, so today's collection is a mix of swaps for the Trimcraft forum, and some miscellaneous cards.

Technique swap - Easel ATCs.
The first one is using one of the Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie, and the other uses one of the Help For Katie digi stamps, this one from True D Doodle Designs.

Di's sketch challenge uses stamps, papers and brads from the Smirk range:

And the Fat Pages swap for the Flower Alphabet.  This month is D forDaffodill, E for Edelweiss and F for Foxtrot.

Finally, some miscellaneous cards!
